| The fishery extends from Shark Bay in the north, to Augusta in the south, and out to the Australian EEZ; however the majority of the product is caught within 60 nautical miles of the coast, and the centre of the fishery is located north of Perth. |

The fishery is divided
in to 3 zones.
- The A zone, which exists around the Abrolhos Islands.
- The B zone which is the coastal area (excluding the Abrolhos Islands) north of the
30°S latitude line.
- The C zone, which is the area south of the 30°S latitude.
