Since 2004, WRLDA has been collecting information on the global lobster market, initially with a focus on the markets affecting Western Australia. In 2006 the Federal Government through the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) funded an expansion of the project to also include markets relating to the Southern Rock Lobster industry and the Tropical Rock Lobster industry.
